2012 BME vrs ENGSCI Bakeoff
You are cordially invited to the ANNUAL 2012 BME/ENGSCI BAKE-OFF!!
This year our students will be continuing with their tradition of holding a Bake-Off for all EngSci's and BME's to show off their culinary prowess. It is open to all undergrads and post-grads in the Department of Engineering Science, and Auckland Bioengineering Institute.
Similar to the previous years, contestants bring in a baked good (cake, cookie, slice, muffin, etc.) decorated according to the theme. This year's theme is 'Engineering at the Olympics'.
The entries will be judged by department lecturers and researchers. Judges (who will be announced on the day, so no bribery can take place) will be looking at: - taste - presentation - originality - suitability to the theme.
WHAT: BME/ENGSCI BAKE-OFF!
WHEN: Monday Week 6 (20th August), 12 - 2pm.
WHERE: Uniservices House, 70 Symonds St, Level 2, Staff and Postgraduate Common Room
ENTRY FEE: $1 to enter your baked good (one entry per person, entrants eat for free). If you'd prefer not to bake there is a $4 fee for helping consume the entries at the end. To enter please pay and register at the Level 3 reception by THIS FRIDAY (17th Aug) 3PM.
PRIZE: The entry fees will go towards prizes for each category (under-grad and post-grad) and the overall winner will receive bragging rights and the Bake-Off trophy in Kim's office.
We particularly want to keep this grand tradition going in memory of our former HOD Andrew Pullan. We know he really enjoyed judging this event and seeing the creativity of our department!
