Engineering building development update
17 September 2012
The University is considering the acquisition of the 5.2ha former Lion Breweries site in Newmarket.
While the acquisition and due diligence process is underway, the Vice-Chancellor has put on hold development of the Engineering Research Facility at Tāmaki. Plans for development of the Research Facility will instead be created for the Newmarket site if this purchase proceeds.
Because the refurbishment of the main Engineering building (403/404) follows the Research Facility, it is expected that this initiative will delay that project by about twelve months.
