Degree-specific entry requirements

The minimum entry requirements for international students to specific undergraduate degree programmes are listed below.

These requirements are intended as a guide only. You may need to obtain a score higher than the one listed in the table below, depending on the level of other applicants for the same programme.

Other requirements in addition to those listed below may also need to be met, for example an audition or interview.

Before you check the academic entry requirements for specific degree programmes below, please ensure you have read our English language requirements.

If you have completed a University Entrance qualification that is not included in the list below, visit the Minimum overseas entry requirements page or get in touch with us at the International Office.

In addition to meeting entry requirements set for domestic students, all international students with National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) or Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) qualifications will be competitively ranked in order to gain entrance to the programme of their choice.

2012 School Leaver Entry Requirements for Guaranteed Admission* for international students from New Zealand Secondary Schools

The guaranteed entry table applies only to international students who have completed NCEA, CIE or IB in a New Zealand secondary school, applying for admission to The University of Auckland in 2012.* Contact the International Office regarding qualifications earned outside of New Zealand.

Some programmes have additional entry requirements and the scores listed in the table below are not sufficient for entry.**

If you achieve the University Entrance Standard but do not achieve a rank score that will guarantee selection into the programme you wish to study, it is still possible to be offered a place. The University of Auckland therefore invites all students to apply for admission even if the rank score is below the guaranteed entry scores.
