Sahan Wasala, an Engineering Science Doctoral Candidate, has been announced as the first place winner of the poster competition at the 2015 Exposure Postgraduate Research Exposition.

Wasala's poster was titled, 'Wind Turbine Noise Reduction by Blade Geometry Modification'. He placed third in the same category at least year's competition.

The Exposure Postgraduate Research Exposition is presented by the University of Auckland's School of Graduate Studies and the Postgraduate Students’ Association (PGSA). It aims to represent the work undertaken by research students regardless of topic and faculty, and winners are said to receive "generous cash prizes".

This year's competition was said to be remarkably tough, due to the incredibly high standard of research presented. There was also a record number of entries for both the Oral (41 entries) and Poster Categories (68 entries).
